What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including short links of the form /go/tool-name. If you click one and sign up or buy, the vendor may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and in some cases the link includes a discount.
How we mark them
Articles containing affiliate links show a disclosure near the top, and affiliate links are marked as sponsored links for search engines. Where a specific tool has its own disclosure text, it appears next to the link.
How they affect our recommendations
They don't. Recommendations are based on testing, as described in the editorial policy. We recommend tools without affiliate programs, and we publish critical reviews of tools that have them.
