Download a video you uploaded

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio with the account that owns the video.
  2. Open Content in the left menu.
  3. Hover over the video, click the three-dot Options menu and choose Download.
  4. YouTube saves an MP4 copy of the video to your device.

Export all your videos with Google Takeout

  1. Go to Google Takeout and sign in.
  2. Click Deselect all, then select YouTube and YouTube Music.
  3. Under the YouTube options, keep Videos selected and continue.
  4. Google emails you a download link when the export is ready.

Videos you don't own

YouTube doesn't allow other people's videos to be downloaded as files outside its apps. You can watch them on YouTube, share the link, or embed them on your site. YouTube Premium members can also save many videos for offline viewing inside the YouTube app. To reuse someone else's video, ask the creator for permission and the original file.

How do I download a video I uploaded?

Open YouTube Studio, go to Content, hover over the video, open the three-dot menu and choose Download. For many videos at once, use Google Takeout and select YouTube and YouTube Music.
